had a dream last night that I went to visit a previous employer, a Mercedes Benz dealership that I had worked at from 2020-2023. I saw my old General Manager Justin and asked him if there was any opportunities to work there again. He was happy to see me and described two roles that were available on the sales side. One was going to be a delivery coordinator role as Jesse the delivery coordinator was being promoted to sales. There was a new position too that was being created as a vehicle sourcer who would contact people on social media, through ads, and through other dealerships to find vehicles that would be a good fit for the dealers inventory. I thought that the sourcer would be the role I would be interested in and told Justin of my interest. Suddenly there was a fire at the dealership and people started to run out of the dealership. I ran out of the dealership too, forgetting my cell phone. When I got outside I realized I had forgot my cell phone and was about to go back inside when Stuart the IT Manager came and handed it to me. He had seen it on a desk and realized I forgot it. Justin quickly called the parts and service department in another building. They too had to evacuate. The person who had lit the fire was an employee who had just been fired from parts and services and he had lit their building and the sales building on fire as he was upset. I realized I was not supposed to return to the dealership and told Justin I had another role lined up closer to home.
Dreams often reflect our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and this dream seems to encapsulate several themes related to your past employment and current life situation. Here’s an interpretation of the key elements: 1. **Returning to a Previous Employer**: Visiting your old workplace could signify nostalgia or unresolved feelings about that chapter of your life. It may indicate a desire for stability or validation from a familiar environment, especially if you're considering a career change or facing uncertainty in your current job. 2. **Roles and Opportunities**: The discussion about potential job roles reflects your aspirations and interests. The fact that you were drawn to the vehicle sourcer position might symbolize your desire to explore new paths or find a role that better aligns with your current interests and skills, especially in the context of social connections or creativity (as social media involvement suggests). 3. **Fire and Evacuation**: The fire represents sudden change or upheaval. It could signify feelings of threat or instability, particularly if you’re in a period of transition or facing challenges in your life. The fact that an upset former employee started the fire may symbolize fear of conflict, resentment, or the consequences of unhealthy workplace dynamics. 4. **Forgetting Your Cell Phone**: Phones often symbolize communication and connection in dreams. Forgetting your phone could indicate feelings of disconnection, being overwhelmed, or concerns about losing touch with crucial aspects of your life or career. When Stuart returns it to you, it suggests that support and help are available, even when you feel a sense of loss. 5. **Choosing Not to Return**: Your decision not to go back to the dealership and instead acknowledge another role lined up suggests personal growth and moving on from situations that no longer serve you. It reflects a sense of self-awareness and a commitment to pursuing what aligns with your current needs and mindset. Overall, this dream may encourage you to reflect on your past experiences, consider new opportunities, and acknowledge any fears or changes that are influencing your current path. It also suggests that while you have support in navigating these transitions, there is a strong pull towards embracing new beginnings rather than returning to old patterns.
